I picked up my first weight when I was 12 years old. Fifty years later, I’m still training hard, still hunting for the best ways to be healthy — and still telling the health and fitness industry things it doesn’t want people to hear.
For 25 years, I worked inside the machine: personal trainer, photographer, and writer, with work running in the biggest fitness magazines out there. I helped build international campaigns for Gold’s Gym, MetRx, and Weider Nutrition.
Then I turned around and exposed the very industry that made me. In 2005, Misled took an insider’s scalpel to the supplements, fad diets, and pharmaceutical incentives selling Americans sickness disguised as health — calling out lies about cholesterol, photo manipulation in advertising, and vaccine concerns years before it was safe to say so out loud.
Twenty years later, I updated it and put it to the test against today’s science. It held up.
If you’ve ever felt like something in the health industry doesn’t add up, this is the book that tells you why.
Twenty years after Misled, I came back with the blueprint.
Built to Last is five decades of what I’ve learned, distilled into four pillars — Light, Movement, Nutrition, and Faith — built to put back what the modern world broke.
At 60, I have no health issues. No prescriptions. No aches and pains. I sleep through the night, I don’t need glasses, and I still sit at 10 percent body fat. I’m not citing research. I am the research.
I’m not selling a trend. I’m selling what’s left after you strip away everything that doesn’t work.
