I was just starting as the host of a show on ESPN2 called, Outdoor PlayGround, and I had 4 weeks to get in my best shape. I consulted with Rick and started learning about things like protein, portions, water and of course fiber as key elements. I was choosing foods and reading labels like never before. That was the educational part, which you have to expect from Rick. I‘ ve known Rick for almost 20 years and during most of it he’ s been studying holistic nutrition and body building while talking stunning photo’ s along the way. Rick was using words like stevia, almond butter and flax seed long before other people I know were saying them. In all seriousness, if you respect someone’ s advice, you take it. I did and I followed Rick’ s recommendations about meals, changed the format of reps in my workout and listened about the true value of “ raw” foods. Rick gave me great knowledge and direction … and I needed it. I was going to be shirtless along side professional athletes half my age, and I didn’ t want to look like a tub of butter. Thanks Rick!
